Baby Brezza Enterprises is recalling roughly 29,000 SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers after reports that the appliances can overheat while plugged in, creating a potential burn hazard for families who use them to dry and sterilize baby bottles, breast pump parts and other accessories. The recall covers three model numbers and applies to units sold at major retailers and online since January 2024.

According to usatoday.com, the Consumer Product Safety Commission says Baby Brezza has received 32 reports of the sterilizer dryers overheating or their plastic housing melting. No injuries have been reported in connection with those incidents. The recall covers SuperFast Sterilizer Dryers with model numbers BRZ0083, BRZ0154 and BRZ0156, all of which are marketed as drying and sterilizing bottles, breast pump parts and other accessories in just 10 minutes.

The recalled units were sold at TJ Maxx and Marshalls stores nationwide, as well as online through Baby Brezza, Target and Babylist, from January 2024 through October 2026, the outlet reports. They sold for between $160 and $180, putting them squarely in the range of a popular baby-registry splurge item rather than a bargain-bin purchase.

What Parents Are Reporting at Home

The recall comes after consumers flagged unsettling symptoms well before this week's announcement. In a Reddit thread in the r/NewParents community, one commenter described the issue bluntly: “the plastic and wire sheaths are burning inside the machine.” Another user in the same discussion said they had narrowed the smell down to a specific part of the appliance's cycle, writing, “I've narrowed it down to the steam cycle that produces the smell, not the drying cycle.”

These accounts are user reports rather than independently verified findings, but they echo the broader pattern the CPSC cites in its recall notice. One commenter in that same Reddit thread said Baby Brezza had already worked with them directly, noting the company “agreed to do a warranty claim and send us an advanced unit (or store credit).”

How to Get a Free Replacement

Anyone with one of the affected dryers should stop using it immediately, per the recall notice. Consumers should contact Baby Brezza Enterprises to receive a free replacement, with shipping also covered at no cost.

The replacement process requires a few specific steps: consumers must unplug the recalled product, cut the power cord to destroy it, and then upload photos of the destroyed appliance, the model-number label and a return authorization number after registering and completing a recall form. Consumers can contact Baby Brezza at [email protected]. Consumers can also reach Baby Brezza by phone at 888-527-9824, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, with questions about the process.

Once a unit has been cut and photographed, owners are instructed to dispose of it according to local and state ordinances. With no injuries reported so far but dozens of overheating incidents on record, the company and federal regulators are urging anyone with a listed model number to act before plugging the appliance in again.
