Baltimore will see mostly cloudy skies Sunday, with filtered sunshine later and a high near 64 degrees. Light winds will turn south, with little chance of rain.
The Dry Window: Sunday Through Wednesday
Sunday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 47 degrees, followed by a mostly sunny Monday topping out around 67. Tuesday looks warmer still, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 71 as light winds keep conditions comfortable across the city, according to National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service outlook keeps Baltimore dry through Tuesday. Hoodline’s Halloween forecast also described the early-week warm, dry setup. Wednesday could be the warmest day, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 73.
Plan for Rain Thursday and Friday
Widespread rain is expected to begin late Wednesday night and continue through most of Thursday. Thursday night carries a 50% chance of rain, followed by likely rain Friday, when the high should reach about 71.
Conditions should turn somewhat drier Saturday, when partly sunny skies and a high near 69 are expected. The forecast discussion describes the late-week system as the area’s first widespread rain in more than two weeks, with the heaviest focus on the Thursday-through-Friday period, as reported by National Weather Service.
Help After a Wet-Weather Sewer Backup
For city homeowners dealing with a sewer backup, Baltimore’s consent decree includes reimbursement of up to $5,000 per dwelling, per occurrence for documented disinfection and cleaning costs when wet-weather surcharging in the collection system causes a backup, according to the Baltimore City Department of Public Works.
What Homeowners Can Do After a Sewer Backup
To qualify for the reimbursement program, a capacity-related wet-weather event must include at least 1/2 inch of precipitation within 24 hours and cause sewer lines to surcharge or overflow. Applications must be received within 90 days of the backup, according to Baltimore City Department of Public Works. For eligible backups, DPW’s SOS Cleanup Program can arrange professional cleanup and disinfection at no cost. Residents may receive help through SOS or the reimbursement program, but not both for the same backup, according to Baltimore City DPW.
No Active Weather Alerts
No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Baltimore, and no hazardous weather is expected through Wednesday morning, as noted by National Weather Service. For outdoor plans, Sunday through Wednesday offer the best odds for dry conditions, while Thursday and Friday look like the days to keep an umbrella nearby.
