Eight Big Ten women's soccer teams are descending on downtown St. Louis this week as Energizer Park hosts the conference's quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, with quarterfinals kicking off Wednesday and running through Thursday before the semifinals take the field Sunday. It marks the third straight year St. Louis has landed hosting duties for the tournament, with Energizer Park hosting the quarterfinals and semifinals.
According to FOX 2, the quarterfinals begin Wednesday with top-seeded and regular-season champion Ohio State facing Michigan at 4 p.m., followed by Wisconsin against UCLA at 7 p.m. The bracket continues Thursday with Washington taking on Michigan State and Purdue squaring off against Penn State. The top eight teams in the Big Ten standings at the close of the regular season earned their spots in the field, according to stlsports.org.
The semifinals are set for Sunday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Energizer Park, with both matches broadcast on Big Ten Network, per FOX 2's report. While St. Louis has hosted the tournament for three consecutive years, this year's semifinals will be at Energizer Park; the final will be played at the home field of the highest remaining seed.
Championship Heads to the Highest Remaining Seed
Rather than staying put in St. Louis, the championship match will travel to the home field of whichever team emerges from the semifinals as the highest remaining seed, with the title decided on Nov. 13. That arrangement was confirmed both by stlsports.org and by St. Louis CITY SC, which noted the women's tournament champion will be determined on the home field of the highest remaining seed. The format means Ohio State, as the No. 1 seed, could end up hosting the final if it advances that far.
St. Louis CITY SC's announcement also placed the tournament in a broader context, noting the Big Ten Conference announced dates and host sites for its 2026-27 Olympic sports championships and tournaments as part of the same rollout. The quarterfinals and semifinals are being played at Energizer Park, the MLS home of St. Louis CITY SC, whose stadium district spans 32 acres according to the venue's own site.
Tickets and How to Follow the Bracket
General admission tickets for matches at Energizer Park were listed at $15 per day or $40 for all three days of competition, before fees, according to stlsports.org's October announcement. Tickets were made available through SeatGeek at that time, the same source reported. Fans can find tournament brackets, schedules and ticket information online, per FOX 2, as the event adds another major collegiate sporting draw to downtown St. Louis's calendar.
