More than four years after 25-year-old Larry Christy Jr. was found shot to death on a remote dirt road near Boron, his family is putting up cash to crack the case. Kern Secret Witness and Christy's family are now offering a combined reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest in his killing.

Deputies discovered Christy's body around 8 p.m. on September 11, 2022, on a dirt road about one mile north of Boron, according to bakersfieldnow.com. Christy, a Tehachapi resident, is believed to have been killed sometime between the night of September 10 and the following morning, per the same report. The Kern County Coroner's Office determined his cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The new reward offer, first reported by KGET 17 News, comes as the case remains unsolved. The Kern County Sheriff's Office believes Christy was murdered by people he knew, and investigators have said they believe the killing was coordinated by multiple people, according to the outlet.
