A 45-year-old Brunswick man has been arrested on child sexual abuse charges following an investigation that stretched from Medina County to western Pennsylvania. FBI Cleveland announced the arrest, crediting a coordinated effort among five law enforcement agencies working across city, county and state lines.
According to FBI Cleveland
, the investigation that led to the man's arrest was conducted by FBI Akron together with the Brunswick Police Department, the Medina County Sheriff's Office, the Tiffin Police Department, and the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Police Department. The agency did not release the man's name, the specific charges against him, the date of his arrest, or details about the alleged conduct behind the case.
FBI Cleveland Special Agent in Charge Josh DelManzo framed the arrest as an example of the kind of interagency cooperation federal and local investigators say is necessary to pursue cases that cross jurisdictional lines. “Whether across the street or across state lines, the FBI and its local, state, and federal partners will continue to work collaboratively and combine resources to identify those who commit crimes against children,” DelManzo said.
Agency Vows to Pursue the Case
In its statement, FBI Cleveland was direct about its intentions going forward, saying simply, “We will find justice for the victims.” The brief statement did not specify a court, a case number, or whether the man has entered a plea, and those details remain unknown based on what the agency has released so far.
The involvement of agencies from five separate jurisdictions, including one in another state, underscores how these investigations can require pooling resources and information across departments that don't typically work together. Cases of this nature have surfaced elsewhere in Northeast Ohio in recent months, though none of those cases are connected to the Brunswick arrest based on available information.
Other Recent Cases in the Region
Earlier this year, an Akron man named Alejandro James Sosa was sentenced to nine years in prison and 10 years of supervised release after authorities said he received or transmitted more than 10,000 child sexual abuse material files between roughly January and August of 2025, according to Cleveland19. That case also involved suspected viewing and sharing of such material by individuals in Portage, Summit and Medina counties, the station reported.
In a separate case from 2023, Rudolf A. Johnson, a 44-year-old Akron man, was federally charged with receiving and distributing child sexual abuse material after his arrest that April, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Investigators said they identified an IP address linked to Johnson during a February 2023 investigative query, and court records described that IP address as having received or transmitted approximately 86,069 files of interest, including roughly 12,775 classified as severe, the newspaper reported.
Those cases involved different individuals and are not described as connected to the Brunswick arrest. No further details about the current Brunswick case, including the man's identity or the specific allegations against him, have been made public at this time.
