Buffalo is trading its mild November feel for a wetter, windier Thursday, with light rain falling early and temperatures around 63 degrees. Showers should taper before 11 a.m., but southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 31 mph will keep the day blustery.
Showers Exit As Winds Pick Up
The National Weather Service puts Thursday’s chance of rain at 30% and forecasts rainfall of 0.25 inch or less in most areas. Once the showers move out, clouds should break for sunshine during the afternoon. The strongest gusts could reach about 35 mph northeast of Lake Erie.
No land-based watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Buffalo, but boaters face a Small Craft Advisory from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday on Lake Erie, the Niagara River and the western end of Lake Ontario. The wind and modest rain will offer some relief after a notably dry stretch, though the expected rainfall totals remain light.
Cooler, Wetter Friday And Saturday
Thursday night stays mostly cloudy, with a low near 51 and another chance of showers after midnight. Friday brings a 50% chance of showers and a high near 60, followed by a low around 42 Friday night with rain showers still likely and a 70% chance of precipitation. Saturday looks cooler, with a 60% chance of showers, a high near 53 and a low near 38.
Sunday Brings A Brief Reset
Sunday should be partly sunny with a high near 54, with showers likely at times. Monday and Tuesday look quieter and mostly sunny, with highs near 54 and 58, respectively.
