LITVAKdance is set to bring its Fall 2026 Concert to the Torrey Pines High School Performing Arts Center in Carmel Valley, with performances scheduled for Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. The North County contemporary dance company will share the stage with youth dancers from Escondido-based A Step Beyond, who are performing a work choreographed by Tijuana company Lux Boreal.

The venue sits at 3710 Del Mar Heights Road, according to the Del Mar Times. As reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the program features three works by Sadie Weinberg, who founded LITVAKdance in 2018, along with guest performance and choreography from Daunte Nabi Fyall and Lemoe Mata'itusi.

A Small Company With Far-Reaching Collaborations

LITVAKdance has been described as a five-member contemporary dance company based in North County, a hallmark that has not stopped it from drawing in choreographers well beyond San Diego. The company's practice of inviting emerging and renowned choreographers from near and faraway places to set work on its dancers has been part of its identity for years, the Union-Tribune reported in 2023.

That reach has included partnerships with Tijuana-based Lux Boreal as well as Seattle's Khambatta Dance and Oregon's Push/FOLD, per the same 2023 account. The Fall 2026 program continues that cross-border thread, with Lux Boreal setting the piece performed by A Step Beyond's youth dancers from Escondido.

Who's Dancing This Fall

The company roster listed for the Fall 2026 Concert includes Ashley Akhavan, Lulu Arellano, Cece Carton, Kyle Filey, Cecily Holcombe, Nicole Kim, Faith Markowitz, Lemoe Mata'itusi, Davan Murphy, April Tra and Hannah Wyer, according to LITVAKdance's own performance page. Mata'itusi appears both as a performer and among the guest choreographers credited for the program.

The Visual and Performing Arts Center at Torrey Pines High School was built to support a curriculum spanning drama, music, art, film and dance, according to RNT Architects, and its theater accommodates 375 attendees.

Following Past Seasons of Outdoor and Indoor Shows

LITVAKdance held its previous Fall 2025 performance on Nov. 22-23, per its performance page, and the company has also staged work outdoors in Encinitas in past years. Its 2023 production, Dancing Outdoors Take 3, took place at the Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego North and brought in the same guest companies from Seattle and Oregon noted above. A year earlier, Dancing Outdoors Take 2 was staged at the same Encinitas venue in 2022, with tickets priced at $25.
