Elgen Staffing, the direct-hire recruiting firm that has operated out of Cresskill, has entered a partnership with Masis Staffing Solutions, a family-owned staffing company with operations in more than 30 states. The companies say Elgen will keep its existing team, its Cresskill branch operations, and its day-to-day client contacts in place throughout the transition.
Masis announced the partnership on its website, describing Elgen as a New Jersey firm specializing in direct-hire recruiting, according to Masis Staffing Solutions. Elgen's own site now states plainly that it is a division of Masis. As part of the deal, Elgen gains access to Masis' broader resources, technology and support, including dedicated help in human resources, information technology, safety, and other corporate functions, per the same announcement. The news was first reported locally by ROI-NJ.
What Elgen Brings to the Table
Elgen's background in manufacturing and legal recruiting is described as complementary to Masis' growing professional staffing services, the announcement notes. The partnership is also expected to give Elgen additional capacity to support temporary staffing needs even as it keeps building out its established direct-hire recruiting services. Both companies are described as family-owned staffing organizations, a shared identity the firms point to as part of the fit.
Matt Rosen, Elgen's president and founder, said the partnership will strengthen recruiting performance and customer service, while allowing the company to deepen client partnerships with Masis' support. Frankie Vaccaro, president and chief operating officer of Masis, said the move will add resources and capabilities while preserving Elgen's local relationships.
A Long Road From a Closter Warehouse
Elgen's growth has been years in the making. A 2017 report found the company just months into existence, operating out of a Closter warehouse with nine employees after Rosen had recently launched the firm, according to Daily Voice. Even in that short stretch, the outlet reported, the company had already helped place dozens of people in jobs stretching from New Jersey to Oregon.
Masis, for its part, describes itself as having been recognized by Staffing Industry Analysts as the 25th-largest industrial staffing firm and the 90th-largest staffing firm overall in the United States, according to its announcement. The company says it is looking to expand its footprint in the professional staffing sector, and frames the Elgen partnership as part of that push. Elgen's clients, meanwhile, are expected to see little day-to-day change, continuing to work with the same contacts they have relied on as the two companies build out what they describe as a broader range of staffing services together.
