The organization also states that Carmichael, like all subjects, is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers and its tip program
East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers says tips can be anonymous and can be submitted by phone or through its online tip link. The organization says a tip leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward, but it alone decides whether to pay and how much; the amount can range from zero to $2,000.
Local context—and its limits
Crime Stoppers’ broader record offers context for the program, not for the allegations against Carmichael. WBIR reported that the organization said it helped make 118 arrests and 70 fugitive apprehensions between May 5, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2023.
A separate example illustrates how a tip may prompt police follow-up: WATE reported that a Crime Stoppers tip about alleged drug sales from a North Ridge Crossing apartment led Knoxville police to follow up on July 24, 2025, and resulted in an arrest. That case is unrelated to Carmichael’s.
The Knoxville Police Department’s preliminary 2024 report said aggravated assaults citywide were down 2% from the 2023 total. The citywide statistic does not address Carmichael’s allegations or establish where the alleged conduct occurred.
Anyone with information about Carmichael’s whereabouts can contact Crime Stoppers by phone or use the online tip-submission link. The organization says only tips submitted to Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest may qualify for a reward; payment is not guaranteed.
