A British kebab chain making its first run at the U.S. market has staked out a Prosper address, with plans to open its doors by the end of 2026. Doner Shack is targeting 3740 W. University Drive, Suite 10, a spot near the corner of University Drive and Teel Parkway, according to a company representative.

The timeline comes from Community Impact, which reports the Prosper restaurant is one of several locations planned as part of Doner Shack's first expansion into the U.S. market, per the company representative. The site sits near a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store that opened nearby in May, giving the stretch of University Drive a fresh cluster of new dining options.

What's on the Menu

Doner Shack's menu is built around doner kebabs, chicken shawarma wraps, loaded fries and chicken tenders, alongside shakes and sundaes, according to the same Community Impact report. One standout item is Mustafa, described as a Berlin-inspired chicken shawarma topped with roasted zucchini and peppers on a bun. The chain has leaned into its European roots elsewhere too — the Tallahassee Democrat describes Doner Shack as a United Kingdom-based fast-food concept offering a taste of what it calls famous original street food from Berlin.

Not everyone agrees on exactly where things stand with construction. CultureMap Dallas reported that the restaurant had not yet been built and that its opening date remained to be announced, a detail that tempers the end-of-2026 target as a plan rather than a locked-in date. CultureMap also identifies the Texas franchisee as Gyro N Philly LLC, led by Hassan Zaman.

A Crowded Kebab and Shawarma Corner

Doner Shack won't be the only option in town for wraps and skewers. CultureMap names Halal Guys, Nick the Greek, The Great Greek, Spitz Mediterranean Grill, Soulard Gyro and German Doner Kebab as competitors, noting many of them have already expanded into the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Prosper plans trace back to May 2025, when Doner Shack first announced the Teel Parkway and University Drive location as its inaugural Texas site, according to franchising.com. At that time, the company said it had already secured more than 20 U.S. sites since the start of the year, with a Tallahassee location expected to open in the third quarter of 2025 alongside new spots in Las Vegas.

Tallahassee's build-out illustrates how the chain's U.S. rollout has unfolded on its own schedule. The Tallahassee Democrat reported that a Doner Shack location at Cascades Park was set to open in August 2026, under a multi-unit deal signed by franchisee Krish Patel to bring three locations to that city. Prosper's own opening, for now, remains a target rather than a confirmed date.
