A 30-year-old man wanted on multiple warrants was taken into custody Monday afternoon after police deployed flash-bang devices during his arrest at a home in a quiet Tualatin neighborhood. Raymond Paul Anthony Gonzalez was booked into jail on a felony assault charge following the operation, which authorities say ended without anyone getting hurt.
The arrest happened around 2:45 p.m. on Monday in the 9300 block of Southwest Sagert Street, according to KPTV. Members of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team, a specialized unit, used the flash-bang devices during the arrest, the station reported. No injuries were reported among officers, bystanders or Gonzalez himself.
Booked on Felony Assault, Held on Outstanding Warrants
Gonzalez was booked into the Washington County Jail for fourth-degree felony assault, per the same account. He was also wanted on multiple warrants at the time of his arrest, though the exact charges tied to that Tualatin booking have not been detailed beyond the felony assault count.
A separate record sheds some light on what authorities may have been looking for him over. A Yamhill County Sheriff's Office outstanding-warrants list published Oct. 9, 2026, and reported by Your Oregon News, named Raymond Paul Anthony Gonzalez, also 30, as wanted on a failure-to-appear warrant tied to resisting arrest, fourth-degree assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, possession of a firearm and criminal trespass.
Why the Flash-Bangs
Details on why the tactical team opted to use flash-bang devices during Monday's arrest, rather than a more routine approach, have not been released. It's also not yet clear whether Gonzalez has entered a plea or what happens next with the felony assault charge out of Washington County.
