Plano City Council has signed off on another economic incentive deal, this time for FleetPride, a truck and trailer parts distributor that plans to relocate its corporate office from Irving to a renovated space at Granite Park 3 before the end of 2027. The council approved the agreement at its Oct. 26 meeting, under which FleetPride will invest $2 million in property improvements in exchange for a $400,000 incentive from the city.

What FleetPride Has Agreed To Do

The arrangement, first detailed by Community Impact, centers on an 83,939-square-foot office space at Granite Park 3. In addition to the $2 million in renovations, FleetPride is expected to bring at least 325 full-time jobs, or the equivalent, to Plano by Dec. 31, 2027, and must maintain that staffing level for at least 180 days before the city pays out the grant. Community Impact also reported that FleetPride's Plano office will bring jobs equivalent to 393 full-time employees, though the available reporting does not spell out the timing or exact relationship between that figure and the 325-job minimum tied to the incentive deadline.

Plano's economic development director, Michael Talley, framed the deal as a standard trade-off the city expects from companies seeking incentives. Companies that take the money have obligations to meet, he said: they have to perform and they have to invest their dollars into the city, into a building and they have to create the jobs, according to the same Community Impact report.

A Merger Behind the Move

FleetPride's push into Plano comes after the company merged with heavy-duty parts distributor TruckPro in 2025, according to a news release cited by Community Impact. The company sells parts and provides repair services for heavy-duty trucks and trailers, according to the seed report from WFAA, which also noted that FleetPride employs more than 5,500 people nationwide.

Plano's Bigger Corporate Picture

FleetPride's relocation is the latest entry in a run of companies choosing Plano over neighboring cities. Plano's roughly five-square-mile Legacy Area now contains more than 37 million square feet of corporate and regional headquarters space and supports around 96,000 workers, according to the Dallas Business Journal. That growth traces back decades, with EDS's move from Dallas to Plano in 1985 helping establish the Legacy area as a major North Texas business hub, per the same outlet.

Plano has kept building on that foundation more recently. AT&T is preparing to establish its global headquarters at 5400 Legacy Drive, a project calling for at least 2 million square feet of office, amenity and retail space and a minimum of $1.35 billion in real-property improvements, with employment benchmarks tied to up to 10,000 full-time job equivalents by 2039, the Dallas Business Journal reported. Samsung has also announced plans to relocate its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Plano, per the same report.

The city has landed other name-brand relocations in recent years as well. Toyota Motor North America announced in 2014 that it would move its headquarters from California to Plano, and Assa Abloy Global Solutions said in 2024 it would consolidate and relocate its North American headquarters to Plano while adding around 350 employees over the following decade, according to The Dallas Morning News. Daisy Brand has likewise moved to shift its headquarters from Dallas to Plano after the city approved an incentive package to lure the company away from its larger neighbor, the Dallas Business Journal reported separately.
