Patchy fog in some areas will give way to a mostly sunny afternoon near 85 degrees. A slight chance of showers or storms later and a sharp weekend cool-down make Friday a day of weather whiplash.
Patchy fog — potentially dense in inland areas west of I-95 — could briefly reduce visibility to around a mile or less before lifting by about 10 a.m. After that, the National Weather Service expects mostly sunny skies, southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph in Coastal Duval and west winds of 5 to 10 mph in Western Duval, and temperatures climbing through the 80s.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop Friday afternoon and evening, especially north of I-10, as a front approaches. The overall rain chance remains limited, but a brief shower is possible around 7 to 8 p.m.; tonight will then turn partly cloudy with a low near 61 and northwest winds.
Weekend Turns Cooler And Breezier
Saturday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 77, followed by a mostly clear night around 59 degrees. Sunday will be sunny but cooler, with a high near 74. Coastal Duval will have northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Beachgoers should keep an eye on the water conditions.
Warmth Returns Briefly Before More Showers
Monday stays sunny near 74, while Tuesday rebounds to around 77 before Veterans Day reaches about 75 under mostly sunny skies. Shower chances increase again Wednesday night and Thursday, when mostly cloudy conditions and a high near 72 are expected.
The new outlook is a substantive shift from Hoodline's earlier Jacksonville weather report, which focused on coastal flooding and lingering beach hazards. For now, Jacksonville gets one more warm afternoon before the weekend brings the more familiar feel of November.
