Cleveland woke to partly cloudy skies and a feels-like reading of 64 degrees Wednesday morning, but the brief November warm-up is about to get rinsed out. Rain is likely after 7 a.m., with a high near 75 and south winds gusting as high as 31 mph.
Afternoon Rain Takes Over
Showers should spread across the city late Wednesday morning and become more persistent through the afternoon. The National Weather Service expects roughly a quarter- to half-inch of rain, with locally higher totals focused closer to Central Ohio.
Hoodline’s earlier Cleveland forecast had already flagged a midweek soaking. Rain will continue into Wednesday night, with a 90% chance of precipitation and temperatures falling to about 58.
A Brief Thursday Reprieve
Thursday brings a welcome reset, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 64. Southwest winds will remain noticeable at 9 to 17 mph, but rainfall chances drop to almost nothing during the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Cooler Showers Return Friday
The next round of unsettled weather arrives Friday, when rain showers are likely and temperatures top out near 57. Showers may linger into Saturday as the high slips to about 52, bringing an early taste of November.
Sunday looks like the best outdoor window of the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 53. No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for the Cleveland area, but Wednesday’s wet roads and gusty winds could still make the afternoon commute slower than usual.
