Showers are expected Wednesday morning, then should trend down through the morning. Honolulu temperatures will reach about 84 degrees, while strong easterly trades keep the day breezy from town to the coast.
Morning Showers Give Way To Sunshine
Isolated showers are most likely before noon, with a 20% chance of rain for Honolulu. After that, skies should become mostly sunny, although a quick shower could still spill over from windward and mountain areas.
The trade winds are expected to be breezy, with fresh to strong conditions. The National Weather Service in Honolulu expects the breezy pattern to continue through the weekend, with overnight lows near 75 degrees and daytime highs generally between 84 and 85.
Showers Trend Down Wednesday Morning
Showers may be light to moderate and should trend down Wednesday morning.
Enhanced showers are possible Friday and Saturday on windward parts of the Big Island and Maui County. The latest update follows Hoodline's earlier forecast on strong trades and elevated surf, with the newest outlook keeping the windy pattern in place while shifting attention to another swell later this week.
North And West Shore Surf Builds
A stronger northwest swell is expected to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday morning, likely pushing north- and west-facing surf toward advisory levels Thursday and Friday. East-facing beaches should remain choppy as the trade winds continue, so beachgoers and boaters should plan for rougher water than the sunny skies might suggest.
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for many area waters through early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. For land-based plans, a light rain layer and some caution around exposed shorelines should cover most of the week.
