A 22-year-old Hudson man was arrested at his home last Friday and now faces 11 charges after investigators say a cryptocurrency trail and a forensic search of his cellphone turned up child sexual abuse images. Arthur Rousseau is being held in preventive detention and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon.
The case against Rousseau began on July 2, when Hudson police received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, according to the Lowell Sun. The report centered on financial activity: an online financial institution had identified cryptocurrency transactions involving digital wallet addresses associated with vendors of child sexual abuse material, police said. Investigators say they then linked the account identified in that report to Rousseau.
Search Warrant Led to Seized Devices
On Sept. 2, Hudson police executed a search warrant at Rousseau's residence and seized electronic devices, per the same account. A forensic examination of his cellphone allegedly turned up images and videos containing child sexual abuse material, the Hudson Police Department said. Those findings remain allegations at this stage of the case.
Rousseau is now charged with one count of certain uses of computer services prohibited and 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse images. He was arrested at his residence on Friday and is being held in preventive detention ahead of a scheduled 1 p.m. arraignment Monday in the 9th Nashua Circuit Court, the article notes.
Multiple Agencies Assisted the Investigation
The Hudson Police Department said it received assistance during the investigation from the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Nashua Police Department. New Hampshire law enforcement officials have said prosecutions of internet crimes against children are ramping up in response to a rise in online predators, according to Seacoastonline.
That same report described a separate case involving a Seabrook police officer, John Giarrusso III, 48, who was charged by the Haverhill, Massachusetts Police Department with possession of child sex abuse images after allegedly uploading graphic videos on the chat app Kik and having explicit conversations with underage girls.
Another Hudson Case Followed a Similar Pattern
Rousseau's arrest is not the only recent Hudson case built around a CyberTipline tip. Hudson and Manchester police began investigating a report about Darian Doerr, 25, on Nov. 9, 2025, according to InkLink Nashua. A search warrant executed at Doerr's residence on Jan. 21, 2026, by Hudson's Special Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire ICAC Task Force led to the seizure of electronic devices, and a forensic exam later located images believed to depict child sexual abuse material along with related search history and communications, the outlet reported.
Doerr was arrested on March 9, 2026, and charged with possession of child sexual abuse images, described as a special felony, the Lowell Sun reported separately. A judge ordered him detained pending trial, citing probable cause that his release would be a danger to himself or the public.
Under New Hampshire's certain uses of computer services statute, RSA 649-B:4, an indictment alleging the defendant believed a child was under 13 can carry a sentence of up to 20 years, with a maximum term of up to 30 years for a person with two or more prior convictions under the statute or an equivalent out-of-state law.
