Jirani Coffeehouse poured its first cups at a brand-new address on October 30, setting up shop on the first floor of Manassas Park's new City Hall. It is the second location for the Old Town Manassas coffee shop, which has built a loyal following since opening in 2015.

The opening, reported by Potomac Local News, places Jirani right next to Park Central's open-air plaza, putting a familiar neighborhood coffeehouse at the center of Manassas Park's rebuilt civic core. The plan for Jirani to land there isn't new: according to the Prince William Times, officials had been describing the City Hall spot for some time as a location meant to open on the first floor of the new building, adjacent to the plaza.

That same report said organizers wanted the new shop to carry the same atmosphere and vibe as the original Jirani, which sits near the train tracks in Old Town Manassas. Jirani's own website says it has been serving greater Northern Virginia from the heart of Old Town Manassas since 2015.

A Coffeehouse Built Into City Hall's Plans for Years

The pairing of coffee shop and government building isn't a last-minute addition. Back in 2022, Potomac Local News reported that the new City Hall building was designed to replace the city's old municipal building while also housing the city's library and a Jirani Coffeehouse under one roof.

That City Hall project traces back further still. The city held a ceremonial groundbreaking for its broader downtown redevelopment, the Village at Manassas Park, on April 15, 2021, at Park Center Court, according to the same Potomac Local News account. The development has been described as a public-private partnership between the city and Norton Scott, LLC, a privately held real estate and investment firm based in McLean.

Part of a Bigger Push to Fill Out Park Central

Jirani's second shop is one piece of a larger effort by Manassas Park to draw new restaurants and businesses into Park Central, its redeveloping downtown district, the Prince William Times reported. City officials have been courting dining options as the area fills in around the new municipal campus.

The city's own Park Central guide lists Jirani Coffee House as co-located at City Hall alongside La Finca Mexican Restaurant, with an opening listed for 2026 — though that guide is a general welcome resource rather than a dated news account, and should be read as a broad description of the plan rather than a precise opening timeline.

Who's Behind the Counter

Ken Moorman founded Jirani in 2015, according to Potomac Local News.

Manassas Park isn't alone in seeing coffee and quick-service growth lately. Prince William County has recently welcomed new entrants too — Milk & Honey opened a second county location in Manassas after a Gainesville debut, per InsideNoVa, while Manassas Patch reported a grand opening with free coffee for a new Shotted location in the county. For now, Jirani's second shop gives Manassas Park residents a reason to linger at the new City Hall for something other than paperwork.
