Another Downtown Shooting in 2024
Downtown Memphis has seen at least one other fatal shooting in recent years. In April 2024, officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Danny Thomas Boulevard and Mississippi Boulevard, finding a man with gunshot wounds who was later transported to Regional One Hospital, where he died, according to a report from Local Memphis. In that earlier case, police said a black Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound on Mississippi Boulevard, and MPD released video of the shooting.
For now, the overnight Wendy's shooting remains an open case, with police asking the public for help identifying those involved.
