Other Recent Attacks on Older Women

In a separate case described by Audacy / 1010 WINS, a 75-year-old woman was attacked by another woman while walking at 1555 President St. in Crown Heights around 9 a.m. on a Monday.

Another incident took place on August 31, when a 90-year-old woman was assaulted outside 501 Brighton Beach Ave. in Brooklyn's Brighton Beach neighborhood, according to Fox News. Police said an unidentified man approached the woman and threw a piece of furniture at her, causing her to fall before he fled on foot. That victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island and listed in stable condition, and the suspect in that case was described as wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white sneakers.

No arrests have been announced in the assault. It was not immediately clear whether the Brighton Beach suspect and victim knew each other. For now, the department is counting on tips from the public to help identify the person involved.
