Oxnard wakes Monday to clear skies, mild temperatures and a brisk early breeze. An observation at Oxnard Airport showed temperatures in the mid-50s before sunrise, while northeast winds were around 7 to 10 mph in the early hours; the afternoon should be mostly sunny and warmer, with a high near 72. No rain is expected in the near term.
A Warming Trend Through The Week
Monday night will turn partly cloudy with a low around 53, followed by sunny skies and a high near 72 on Tuesday. The National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard office says high pressure will build through the week, bringing a broad warming trend and temperatures in the 80s later in the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Beach Hazards Continue Monday
Anyone heading to Ventura County beaches should take extra care Monday, while a Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through 6 p.m. Dangerous rip currents, elevated surf and breaking waves are expected, with minor tidal overflow possible during high tides, the National Weather Service alert says.
Swimmers should stay out of the water or remain near occupied lifeguard towers, and rock jetties are especially dangerous in these conditions. Small boats and anyone walking near exposed rocks should also keep clear of the rougher surf.
Cooler Nights, Warmer Afternoons
While afternoons warm steadily, evenings will remain comfortable rather than hot, with overnight lows in the low to upper 50s through Friday. Temperatures continue to trend warmer later in the week, reaching the 80s.
