A new dessert shop is about to start serving up Southern comfort food in Evans, Georgia. The Peach Cobbler Factory is holding a soft opening Saturday, Nov. 7, from noon to 10 p.m. at its Evans Town Center Plaza location, bringing cobblers, cookies, brownies and cheesecakes to the Augusta metro area.
The shop sits at 4272 Washington Road, Unit 4, according to augustagoodnews.com, which first reported the scheduled soft-opening hours. The location is owned and operated by Brittany Blocker, per RestaurantNews.com, and will serve Evans and the surrounding Augusta metropolitan area. WJBF identified the owner as Brittany B. and reported her describing the opening in personal terms, saying, “It’s more than just opening a business—it’s bringing a longtime dream back home.”
What's On the Menu
Southern-style sweets are the centerpiece of the new storefront. RestaurantNews.com reports the menu includes cobblers, banana puddings, cookies, cinnamon rolls, brownies, milkshakes, and personal and celebration bundt cakes. WJBF similarly described the Evans location's offerings as cobblers, cookies, brownies, cheesecakes and more, while augustagoodnews.com's description of the broader chain includes cobblers, banana puddings, cinnamon rolls, shakes and cookies.
A second Peach Cobbler Factory dessert shop is also planned nearby, at 1307 Richland Avenue West in Aiken. Augustagoodnews.com reported that the company's website did not give a specific opening date for that location. WJBF likewise noted that opening dates had not yet been announced for either the Evans or Aiken shops, with both listed as coming soon.
A Nashville Brand Growing Across Georgia
The Peach Cobbler Factory traces its roots to Nashville, Tennessee, where the company was founded in 2013, according to RestaurantNews.com. The company began franchising in 2022, according to augustabusinessdaily.com and a separate RestaurantNews.com report. The Augusta-area expansion adds to what the company describes as one of America's fastest-growing dessert brands, with the chain reporting more than 135 brick-and-mortar and mobile operations across 26 states.
Company leadership has pointed to the brand's growth strategy as a mix of traditional storefronts, mobile units and nontraditional venues. Greg George, CEO and co-owner of The Peach Cobbler Factory, said the company is excited to expand in Georgia, welcome Brittany Blocker, and bring its dessert experience to Evans. George, who has more than 25 years of experience building and scaling franchise brands, also said the brand resonates with consumers across America, crediting franchise owners, team members and communities for that growth. The company's co-owner, Larry Johnston, is the former chairman and CEO of Albertsons Inc.
Part of a Broader Georgia Push
The Evans opening follows a string of Georgia expansions for the chain. RestaurantNews.com reported the company's 15th Georgia location recently opened to serve Newnan and Sharpsburg, owned and operated by Reginald Andrews. Back in 2022, company partner Greg George announced expansion into Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina and additional Georgia stores, with four different groups signing multi-unit agreements for stores expected to open by the end of the first quarter of that year.
For Evans residents, Saturday's soft opening marks the latest sign of growth at Evans Town Center Plaza, adding a dessert-focused stop to the shopping center's lineup. With the Aiken location also in the pipeline, the Augusta metro area looks set to get two new spots for Southern-style sweets in the months ahead.
