Four men are behind bars and three more are wanted after a violent armed robbery outside a hotel on Santana Row left two victims assaulted and seven suspects fleeing the scene in multiple vehicles. San José police say the case, which began with three adult victims confronted by seven male suspects, was cracked open with the help of license plate reader cameras and a string of search warrants that stretched all the way to Lathrop.

Gunpoint Confrontation in Front of a Santana Row Hotel

According to San José Police Media Relations

, the robbery unfolded in front of a hotel in the 350 block of Santana Row, where a suspect brandished a firearm and two of the three victims were assaulted during the altercation. The suspects grabbed the victims’ personal belongings before scattering in multiple vehicles, police said.

Automated license plate reader cameras helped identify a suspect vehicle and one primary suspect. That digital trail led investigators to obtain arrest warrants for all seven suspects, along with search warrants for residences tied to the group.

Lathrop Arrests and Seized Firearms

Detectives arrested four suspects in Lathrop on October 21, the department said. Detectives seized four firearms from the residences they searched.

The four men arrested — Rahib Hameidi, 33; George Iraola, 22; Juan Guillermo-Silva, 22; and Jesus Correa, 21, all identified as Lathrop residents — were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on armed robbery charges, per the department’s account.

ALPR Cameras Have Cracked Other San José Cases

License plate reader technology has become a recurring tool in San José robbery investigations. In a separate case detailed by SJPD, detectives used the cameras alongside patrol officers and the department’s Real Time Intelligence Center to identify a primary suspect in a string of armed robberies.

Other recent San José robbery cases echo elements of the Santana Row incident. In August, the Mercury News reported that one suspect brandished a handgun at an employee while two others stole cash and merchandise, with three teenage suspects, ages 19, 18, and 17, later identified. And in a July incident in East San José, KRON4 reported that a suspect struck a victim in the face with a firearm and stole items from a vehicle before fleeing with a second suspect, a case in which police also used ALPR cameras to identify the getaway vehicle.
