Gunfire struck property early Sunday morning outside District 12 Social Club on Winchester Road in Memphis, though police say no one was hurt. Officers responded to the 6642 block of Winchester Road after a report of shots fired, finding damage to property at the scene but no victims.

According to FOX13 Memphis, officers responded to a report of shots fired with property struck at the address, and no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Memphis police have not released additional details beyond their initial statement on the case.

A Club With a Troubled Recent History

This is not the first time gunfire has erupted at District 12 Social Club. In an earlier shooting there, a string of gunfire left a person in critical condition early one Sunday morning, per the station's report. Surveillance footage from that incident reportedly showed a car speeding down Winchester as shots were fired toward the parking lot, with people ducking and diving behind vehicles to take cover.

District 12 owner Artemis Peppa Williams described that earlier shooting as random, telling the outlet, “it was a random shooting.” A separate account of an incident at the club described one person injured and receiving medical attention, while Sunday's report said no injuries were reported.

Not the Only Winchester Road Shooting This Fall

Sunday's incident comes just over a week after a far more serious shooting on Winchester Road. According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded at approximately 2 a.m. on October 24 to a shooting at 3187 Winchester Road that police said stemmed from an altercation outside an event center.

Five people suffered gunshot wounds in that incident, with two hospitalized in non-critical condition and three listed in critical condition, the department said. A sixth person was hospitalized with a foot injury. Memphis police said 24-year-old Kendell Catron was taken into custody and charged with four counts of aggravated assault in connection with that shooting.

A Pattern Beyond One Street

Nightclub gunfire without injuries has shown up elsewhere in Memphis before. In a 2024 shooting outside a North Memphis club, officers didn't find any victims but located a crime scene nearby, where a front window had been struck and multiple shell casings were recovered, according to Action News 5.

Broader claims about citywide crime trends in 2026 have been mixed. One FOX13 report characterized Memphis crime as slightly increasing each month so far this year, while Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn “CJ” Davis said in March that crime was down during the first three months of 2026, per WREG. Those two characterizations conflict.

For now, Memphis police have not said whether Sunday's shooting at District 12 Social Club is connected to any other recent gunfire on Winchester Road, and no suspect information has been released.
