The forecast includes mostly cloudy conditions. Light rain is expected after 8 a.m., with a high near 66 degrees.
Rain is in the forecast Tuesday. Southeasterly winds of 3 to 10 mph could gust as high as 21 mph, while total rainfall in San Jose should remain under a tenth of an inch.
Rain Lingers Into Tuesday Evening
Showers could continue on and off through the afternoon, with the best chance of rain around the late-morning and midday hours. The chance drops to about 30% Tuesday night, when patchy fog is expected to develop after a few lingering showers.
Drivers should plan for wet pavement during the morning commute and reduced visibility in spots after dark. The broader Bay Area could see heavier rainfall than San Jose, particularly across the North Bay and higher terrain.
Sunny Skies Return Wednesday
Wednesday brings a quick turnaround, with patchy fog before 10 a.m. followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 69 degrees. The warming trend continues Thursday and Friday, with highs of 72 and 74 before Saturday reaches a notably mild 78 degrees.
Sunday should remain mostly sunny near 77 degrees, while Monday settles back into the mid-70s. Overnight lows will stay seasonably cool, generally in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Beach Hazards Continue Along The Coast
Residents heading toward the Pacific Coast should take Tuesday’s beach warning seriously. The National Weather Service says long-period northwest swell could create sneaker waves and strong rip currents through Tuesday evening.
Beach visitors should stay out of the water and avoid jetties, piers, rocks and other shoreline structures. Waves can surge farther up the beach without warning, turning a calm-looking shoreline into a bad place to linger.
