New York City woke to clear skies and temperatures near 45 degrees Sunday morning, with a mostly sunny afternoon ahead and a high near 61. Light winds will shift from the north and northwest to the west and southwest, keeping conditions comfortable for late-fall plans.
The National Weather Service expects dry weather across the city Sunday, with no meaningful rain chance. Skies will stay mostly clear Sunday night, though temperatures will settle near 49 degrees before rising slightly overnight.
Sunny Stretch Warms Up Through Wednesday
The warming trend takes over Monday, November 2, when mostly sunny skies push the high to about 66 degrees. Tuesday should reach 68 degrees, followed by a mostly sunny Wednesday near 69, making the first half of the week unusually mild for early November.
Overnight temperatures will also climb, from the low 50s Monday night to the mid-50s Tuesday night and around 60 degrees Wednesday night. The combination of mild afternoons and relatively gentle winds should make for an easy stretch for outdoor errands, walks and events.
Rain Chances Arrive Thursday
The weather pattern turns wetter Thursday, November 5, with mostly cloudy skies, a high near 72 and a chance of rain beginning after 7 a.m. Rain becomes more likely Thursday night and continues into Friday, when New York City could see another mild day near 70 degrees.
A chance of rain remains Saturday before skies become partly sunny, with a high near 66. For now, Sunday through Wednesday look like the best window for dry plans, while Thursday and Friday may bring the week’s biggest commute and event-planning headaches.
