Bakersfield is waking up to clear skies Tuesday, with temperatures climbing from the low 50s to a pleasant afternoon high near 71 degrees. The valley should stay dry, making for an easy outdoor day before a warmer weekend settles in.
Sunny Tuesday With Breezy Afternoon Gusts
The morning will warm steadily under mostly sunny skies, reaching the upper 60s around midday and topping out near 71 degrees Tuesday afternoon. Northwest winds should generally stay between 0 and 5 mph, though gusts could reach 20 mph later in the day.
The National Weather Service puts Bakersfield’s rain chance at essentially zero Tuesday, even as a passing weather system could bring isolated light rain or snow to higher elevations elsewhere in the region. Spotty valley showers cannot be completely ruled out, but measurable rain is not the main story for Bakersfield.
Cooler Wednesday Before Temperatures Rebound
Tuesday night will turn partly cloudy with a low around 53 degrees. Wednesday should be sunny but cooler, with a high near 67, followed by mostly sunny conditions Thursday and a high near 69.
Upper 70s Return This Weekend
Temperatures begin climbing Friday, when Bakersfield could reach 72 degrees under sunny skies. The warmup peaks over the weekend, with a chance of highs reaching at least 75 degrees next weekend.
A Dense Fog Advisory was in effect for parts of the region from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, November 2.
