A 19-year-old man was left in critical but stable condition after being shot in St. Louis's Mt. Pleasant neighborhood Friday night, according to police. The shooting happened around 8 p.m. in the 3200 block of Pulaski Street, where officers were sent after a ShotSpotter activation picked up gunfire in the area.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, District 1 officers responding to the ShotSpotter alert learned that a 19-year-old male had already arrived at a local hospital by private conveyance. Responding officers determined he had been shot in the 3200 block of Pulaski, and he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.
Officers who canvassed the scene found ballistic evidence and evidence of shots fired, per the department's statement. As reported by FOX 2, additional details are limited, and the investigation remains active.

Recent Shootings in the Same St. Louis Neighborhood
Friday's shooting is not the only violence to hit Mt. Pleasant this year. In May, a 19-year-old man died after being shot near a gas station on South Broadway Street around 3:50 p.m., according to First Alert 4. Paramedics in that case transported the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and police asked anyone with information to contact the Homicide Division.
A separate double shooting struck the same neighborhood when two 18-year-old men were shot around 7:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, FOX 2 reported at the time. One victim was listed in unstable condition and the other in stable condition, and police asked for tips through CrimeStoppers or the department's main tip line.
Elsewhere in the city, a shooting in the DeBaliviere Place neighborhood this past Wednesday left a 17-year-old male critically injured, according to the same First Alert 4 report. Detectives said that teen was shot inside a short-term rental property where several other people were present at the time.
The city maintains a public dataset describing crimes reported to SLMPD across St. Louis, according to the City of St. Louis Open Data portal, which lists monthly crime reports by neighborhood. The Friday night shooting on Pulaski Street remains under investigation.
