Hamilton Police are asking the public for help finding 17-year-old Jayse Saylor, who was last seen Friday on Progress Avenue on the city’s west side. Saylor is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and investigators say he may be in Middletown with friends.

Police Issue Public Appeal Through Facebook

The appeal came in a Hamilton Police Department - Ohio Facebook post published Monday, which asks anyone with information about Saylor’s whereabouts to come forward. The post does not say what prompted concern for his safety, only that he was last seen on Progress Avenue in west Hamilton on Oct. 30.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911. People can also reach out directly to Detective Katherine Johnson, either by phone at 513-868-5811, extension 1235, or by email at [email protected], according to the department’s post.

Search Ended With Both Teens Safe

Hamilton has seen missing-teen cases resolve quickly in the past. Last year, two 13-year-old Hamilton students went missing after leaving Wilson Middle School around noon on a Tuesday, as Hamilton police told fox19.com. A parent told the station the pair had met up at the school and left their phones behind, and search crews searched property around the middle school. Both teens were found safe around 11 a.m. the following day, according to Ohio LandSAR.

In another case, Hamilton police searched for 14-year-old Klaya Whitlock, who investigators believed was still in the city, according to a report from naridayton.org. That report said Whitlock was last seen on Park Avenue and was known to frequent a nearby McDonald’s and Taco Bell, and police said at the time that an adult may have been harboring her.

It is not yet known whether Saylor has been located. Anyone who sees him or has information about his location is urged to contact Hamilton police.
