Union Township’s Winter Wonderland and Holiday Village returns Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5, with more than 40 local vendors and free admission. The festival will fill the front and back parking lots of Town Hall, at 1976 Morris Ave., with tree lightings, synthetic ice skating and other holiday activities.

The township lists Friday hours as 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday hours as 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to TAPinto. A separate listing from Carr Event Productions gives Friday hours as 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; both listings show Saturday hours of 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, per the township.

Vendors, Food Trucks and a Beer Garden

The Holiday Village portion of the weekend will feature more than 40 local vendors selling handmade crafts, fashion, home decor and gifts, the township said. Hungry visitors can expect local food trucks, hot cocoa stations and a holiday beer garden, along with $2 s'mores kits benefiting the Union Recreation Department.

In remarks included in the township announcement, Mayor Patricia Guerra-Frazier called the event “one of our township's most celebrated traditions.”

Two Tree Lightings and a Packed Activity List

Union Township will hold its annual tree lighting twice over the course of the weekend, once on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and again on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Planned activities include synthetic ice skating, photos with Santa, game trailers, a trackless fire truck, photo booths, a mechanical reindeer and a live nativity.

The weekend also includes live music, a kids reindeer dance party and free Strings of Joy marionette shows at the Union Arts Center. The 2025 event featured a similar mix of holiday craft vendors, food trucks, live music and a beer garden alongside tree lightings on both days, according to the Township of Union.

Parking and Where to Find Updates

The township lists free event parking at Connecticut Farms School, the Wewanna Avenue lot, the Stowe Street lot and the 1898 Morris Avenue Lot 12. Additional parking is available at the Union Center parking garage at 968 Bonnel Court.

The event’s history and another seasonal market

The Township of Union’s 2025 announcement said that year’s Winter Wonderland would return to its former home in the Town Hall parking lot at 1976 Morris Avenue and scheduled it for Dec. 5 and 6. The announcement also described changes to the format, including incorporating the new Union Public Library and Arts Center, using their parking lots, and holding select activities inside the Arts Center and DMK Theater. Outside the winter festival, the township scheduled its separate Market at Union for every Thursday from June 4 through Sept. 24, 2026, according to the Township of Union.

Additional schedule details and activity updates are expected to be posted at www.uniontownship.com and on the township's social media account, @twpunionnj.
