The W Dallas has finished a multiyear renovation of its guest rooms, suites, lobby and Living Room bar, with the suite work completed in October. The lobby and bar were finished in December 2024, followed by guest rooms this past summer, CultureMap Dallas reported. The hotel stands across from American Airlines Center in Victory Park.

The refresh gives the hotel a new visual identity tied to Dallas and Texas history. CultureMap reports that a chandelier by artist Michael Murphy forms a Texas Star when viewed from below and a Pegasus from the side. The design also includes a cowhide mural by Kyle Bunting inspired by Dallas Regionalist painter Otis Dozier.

That reference connects the hotel’s contemporary art to a regional tradition. The Texas State Historical Association describes the Dallas Nine, also known as the Dallas Regionalists, as artists active in the 1930s and early 1940s whose work often depicted the Southwest’s land, people and wildlife. The Amon Carter Museum of American Art lists Dozier’s oil painting Gathering Pecans, dated 1941, in its collection.

The W opened in 2006 as an anchor of the Victory Park development, according to The Dallas Morning News. In 2019, Dallas investors acquired the hotel and planned a roughly $21 million update; that was an earlier ownership-era plan, distinct from the renovation completed now. Nearby, CultureMap Dallas reported that Victory Station Plaza is a one-acre public green space beside DART’s Victory Station and across from the arena.

The renovation arrives amid a large regional hotel pipeline, but the scale of that pipeline does not necessarily mean more luxury rooms. CoStar reported that Dallas entered 2026 with more than 4,200 hotel rooms under construction; that figure covers hotel rooms generally and does not specify the luxury share. Bisnow has reported that, despite a substantial development pipeline, the Dallas-Fort Worth area still trails other major cities in luxury-hotel supply.
