Hartford is heading into a warm but increasingly soggy stretch, with cloudy skies Thursday and temperatures climbing to around 71 degrees. A few showers could move in after 10 a.m., while southerly winds strengthen through the afternoon. The bigger weather change arrives Friday, when steady rain and patchy fog take over the region.
Warm Thursday Turns Wetter Tonight
The National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of rain Thursday afternoon, followed by a better chance Thursday night. Hartford-area temperatures should remain mild, with a low near 62 as rain chances increase.
Rainfall Thursday night should generally be light, but the forecast becomes much wetter Friday. Periods of rain and fog are expected throughout the day, with a high near 70, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain Lingers Into Saturday Before Cooler Air Arrives
Friday night brings a chance of rain and patchy fog. Saturday brings a chance of rain and a partly sunny high near 66, while Saturday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a low in the lower 40s.
Some poor-drainage and urban flooding could develop Friday into Saturday, particularly if fallen leaves clog storm drains. The forecast discussion estimates roughly half an inch to 1 inch of rain across western southern New England through Saturday, though the heaviest rain is expected farther east.
Sunday Starts Wet, Next Week Looks Much Drier
A few showers could linger early Sunday before skies turn mostly sunny, with a high near 59. Breezy northwest flow is expected.
Monday through Veterans Day should be mainly dry, with periods of clouds possible. Highs should return to the 50s early next week. No watches or warnings are in effect for the Hartford area in the current forecast.
