A 27-year-old Washington man has been convicted of promoting prostitution in Clackamas County after investigators say he was caught in a sting operation at a Wilsonville motel, where officers found text messages in which he repeatedly referred to himself as a pimp. Dre’shaughn Anthony Henderson is scheduled to be sentenced later this month, while his brother, who was arrested alongside him, still awaits trial in a related case.

The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office said Henderson was convicted of promoting prostitution, according to KPTV. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 24. The case traces back to May, when authorities conducted a human-trafficking mission in Clackamas County that led to Henderson's arrest.

During that operation, officers responded to an online advertisement for a woman offering sexual services and arranged to meet her at a Wilsonville motel, believing she was a victim of sex trafficking, the station's report states. When Henderson and his brother, 26-year-old Andre Lashawn Bonds, showed up in a car with the woman, police stopped the vehicle and arrested both men. Bonds had been driving, while Henderson rode as a passenger.

Texts Revealed a Pattern of Control

Investigators said they found text messages between Henderson and the woman documenting her prostitution dates and activities, per the same account. The messages included Henderson's repeated references to himself as a pimp.

Bonds, for his part, was charged with promoting prostitution and unlawful possession of a firearm in the Clackamas County case. His trial is set for March 2027, meaning the full resolution of his charges remains months away.

Separate Charges Await in Washington

Henderson's legal troubles don't end in Oregon. The Clackamas County District Attorney's Office said he also faces charges in Pierce County, Washington, for assault, sex trafficking of a minor, and unlawful possession of a firearm. The station additionally reported that Henderson has multiple prior Washington convictions for felony assaults and drive-by shootings.

A separate record from the Pierce County Prosecutor's Office shows Henderson and two others were charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Lakewood, a case distinct from his Clackamas County conviction.

Part of a Broader Enforcement Pattern

Henderson's case is not the only recent prostitution-related prosecution to move through Clackamas County courts. In 2025, a Tacoma man, Marquese Marchand Sykes, pleaded guilty in the county to promoting prostitution and unlawful possession of a firearm following a 2024 Milwaukie police operation, according to KXL.

Law enforcement in the region has run several trafficking-focused stings in recent years. In February 2025, three suspected human traffickers were arrested in Wilsonville during an operation led by the West Linn Police Department, and five people suspected of purchasing sex were detained and ticketed for misdemeanor crimes, with three adult women offered victim services, KOIN reported. A separate Clackamas County operation in May was part of a nationwide effort called Operation Coast to Coast, involving 157 police agencies across 19 states, according to NBC16, with the local multi-disciplinary team citing seven sex purchasers and offering services to five victims.

More recently, on October 6, Milwaukie police conducted a five-hour sting in which six people were cited for commercial sexual solicitation, KATU reported. That outlet also cited figures from Safety Compass showing the organization has interacted with 1,235 sex-trafficking victims tied to 29,286 trafficking transactions since 2018, though those numbers reflect a cumulative total rather than a measure of whether trafficking activity is rising or falling.

For now, Henderson awaits sentencing in Clackamas County while his brother's case moves toward a trial next spring, and the separate Washington charges against Henderson remain pending in Pierce County.
