A 28-year-old woman and her husband were hurt in an attack outside a downtown San Antonio nightclub last month, and police still don't have anyone identified in connection with the assault. The incident happened at about 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 3 outside Vibras nightclub in the 3000 block of N. St. Mary's.
According to WOAI, three men allegedly confronted the woman's husband outside the club, and a fight broke out between the men and him. As the confrontation escalated, the woman tried to pull another woman away from her husband, and the two women ended up falling to the ground together.
The outlet's report describes the woman attempting to untangle her purse strap from the other woman's legs when one of the men kicked her in the face, a blow that knocked her backward. San Antonio police have not identified any suspects in the aggravated assault and are now asking the public for information about those responsible, per the same account.
How to Submit a Tip
Crime Stoppers of San Antonio may pay up to $5,000 in cash for tips leading to a felony arrest in the case, the station notes. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867, text “TIP 127” plus their tip to CRIMES (274637), or submit a tip through the P3 Tips app. Only anonymous tipsters are eligible for the reward, and tips must be submitted directly to Crime Stoppers.
A Pattern Along the St. Mary's Strip
The Vibras attack is one of several violent incidents reported near downtown and the St. Mary's Strip over the past couple of years, though the evidence does not establish any connection between them. In September, a 30-year-old man was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds near the strip, with two women, ages 38 and 46, and a 50-year-old man identified as suspects at the scene, according to Hoodline. KENS 5 reported that the three suspects gave conflicting accounts and that the investigation remained active and ongoing.
In May 2025, three people were seriously wounded in a stabbing after a confrontation outside the Brass Monkey nightclub at North St. Mary's and East French Place, according to news4sanantonio.com. David Rivera was later sentenced to 45 years in prison on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with the sentences set to run concurrently, the outlet reported.
A separate aggravated assault near downtown made headlines in August, when two men were sought after an attack at about 12:30 a.m. on June 14 outside 150 E. Houston St. FOX San Antonio reported that Crime Stoppers offered up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects in that case.
Citywide Crime Numbers Show a Decline
Despite the string of violent incidents near downtown nightlife, a broader citywide trend points the other way. A 2026 study by UTSA criminologists found that violent street crime in San Antonio fell 21.1% in 2025 compared with 2024, with aggravated assaults dropping 19.8% citywide, Hoodline reported. Whether that trend extends to the stretch of N. St. Mary's where Vibras sits is not addressed by the available evidence.
For now, the Vibras case remains unresolved, with no suspects named and the investigation left to Crime Stoppers tips from the public.
