Man, seems like only yesterday we named the former La Carreta Taqueria space the #1 vacant storefront showing signs of life in the Lower Haight.
Well today, seemingly out of nowhere, those signs of life turned into full-fledged birth, as Estrella Taqueria opened its doors at 533 Haight.
Aside from a few balloons and flyers in the store, you would have no idea that today was the grand opening. Surely a new taqueria in the neighborhood deserves some fanfare!
They've got a pretty extensive menu, ranging from prawn quesadillas to tofu ranchero burritos -- and they even have a breakfast menu, which we will definitely be trying muy muy pronto.
Bienvenido al Lower Haight, Estrella. Anybody want to give Estrella a shot and let us know how it compares to La Carreta?
