No, it's not the lovechild of NOPA and SOMA... or IS it?
Meet SOPA, a.k.a. South of Panhandle. Some folks in the underserved rectangle bounded by Oak, Haight, Divisadero, and Masonic have gotten together and declared their own neighborhood. They've got a website, a Facebook Page, and a Potluck Block Party coming up next weekend, so check 'em out. We've often wondered what to call the area between the Lower and Upper Haights (no, the Upper Haight does NOT begin at Divisadero, no matter what any new cartography might imply). So, SOPA sounds like as good a name as any to us. Much better than "the Middle Haight," that's for sure...
