Arrest Made in Pearla Louis Case
At a press conference just minutes ago, the SFPD announced an arrest in the case of Pearla Louis, whose body was found two weeks ago in a suitcase floating in the Bay.

The suspect, 42-year-old San Francisco resident Lee Bell, apparently had some sort of relationship with Louis, but police won't describe its nature. Bell was arrested this afternoon and charged with one count of murder. Details are still unfolding at this time, but we'll update with more information as we get it. Update 6/4/2010: The Chronicle reports that Bell was Louis's boyfriend, and was already in jail for violating probation on a separate charge when he was taken into custody. Police also added that there was a history of domestic disturbance between the two, and that Louis had indeed been living near Church and Duboce at the time of her death.
