Art, Wine, & Bicycles Tonight
Face it, you had such a great time at last night's Art Walk on Divis, you're worried that tonight's gonna be a big fat letdown. Well, you can stop panicking -- we've got your Friday night plans right here.

First, Lower Haters Gallery has the first show -- ever! -- of Ube's Icecream Shop, the shingle of Inner Sunset artist Ube Urban. The show will feature some of Ube's custom-painted bicycles (sorry, no ice cream), as well as graphic skateboard designs from CALAB. And of course you can expect snacks, drinks, and music at the event, which starts at 7pm. Next, stroll over to D-Structure, where they're hosting the opening of their VICES exhibit, featuring works by more than 20 mostly-local artists on the theme of "bad habits and lack of morals." How could that not be worth seeing? The event kicks off at 8pm, and the first 100 guests get free wine, so be sure to RSVP via their Facebook page. Finally, head to the two afterparties -- at Noc Noc for the Lower Haters show, and Nickies for D-Structure's. You'll find drink specials at both, which should help you keep the party rolling till the break of... 2am. There -- Friday night, officially saved. (You can thank us tomorrow.) Update 6/4/2010: Commenter Chris L. tips us to yet another art event tonight -- the opening reception for photographer Meghan Rand's exhibit at Bean There, from 5pm - 8pm. Sounds like a good way to start the night. Thanks Chris!
