Reader Ryan B. tips us with an update on the activity inside 798 Haight -- the former home of the Maire Rua salon.
The owner of the New Santa Clara Market across the street confirmed to Ryan that they'll be opening a new organic/whole-foodsy market in the Maire Rua space. They're also expanding the space, merging it with 796 Haight next door (which formerly housed Pearson's Appliances). Ryan snapped a phone pic of the space in progress:
Note the green posts, which were revealed when the dividing wall between 798 and 796 was torn down.
The owner also stressed that they're not closing the Santa Clara, and that the new market should be ready in about 2 months.
