If you're wondering what's up with all the helicopters overhead this morning, they're circling because of three fires being battled in the Castro.

KRON reports that one was a trash can fire near Market and Noe, which was reported around 4am and promptly put out by firefighters. The second is a fire in a Victorian house near 16th and Market. KRON reports that the fire is now out, and although 17 people have been displaced, fortunately no one has been injured. The third fire was at 17th and Hartford. It's unclear what the status of that fire is at this time. There's also no word on whether there's any connection between these fires. Market is currently closed between 16th and Castro, so if your morning commute involves passing through that area, you're probably going to want to seek an alternate route.
