Party to Celebrate the Lower Haight Mural Set for June 11th
After months of hard work planning, painting, and re-painting the "Love in the Lower Haight" mural at Haight and Laguna, the creative team behind it has decided it's time to party.

The Lower Haight Mural Collective, a group of artists and neighbors who steered the mural's creation, are throwing a party on the afternoon of Saturday, June 11th, in the UC Extension parking lot behind the mural. The party will have a family-friendly block party vibe, with food, music, booths featuring local merchants, and activities for the kids. Plenty of the artists who contributed to the mural are expected to attend, as well as a few local luminaries like Supervisors Ross Mirkarimi and Scott Wiener (at least that's what we're hearing). Also, to help raise funds for future art projects in the neighborhood, the party will feature a neighborhood-wide bake sale. Got a sweet treat you'd like to donate to the cause? Just bring it to the party any time after 12:45pm. We'll drop another reminder on you a day or two before the big event, but for now, just put it on your calendar: Who: You and your neighbors What: Lower Haight Mural Party When: Saturday, June 11th, 1-4pm Where: the UC Extension's parking lot behind the mural (entrance at Laguna and Waller) Why: Because public art is good, and good public art is better!
