Recent Haighteration Stories: Where Are They Now?
"Hey, whatever happened with..." Lately we've received a lot of emails beginning with phrases like that. Clearly we need to do a better job of following up on some of our more popular stories. So, we will -- starting now!

A couple of readers have asked if renovations of the pink house at 591-595 Waller, which began in March, have stopped, given that there hasn't been much visible activity at the site of late. Yesterday we checked in with Urban Green Investments, the firm that's managing the project. They assured us that construction is indeed in progress, and they "are hopeful for the renovation to be completed by the end of the year."
In April we told you about Doc's of the Bay, the food truck that was hoping to set up shop on the 300 block of Divisadero. The public comment period closed on May 6th, and with some neighbors concerned about the truck's potential effects on the block, it was unclear what Doc's fate might be. This week we asked owner Zak Silverman for an update. Silverman tells Haighteration that the hearing at the Department of Public Works "went well" and that they should hear a decision by July 8th. However, objections from some neighbors have dimmed Silverman's optimism a bit -- "I'm not holding my breath" about the location, he writes.
Finally, also in April we wrote about a project seeking to convert a property at Fillmore and Germania into an SRO, a topic which generated lots of discussion both on Haighteration and throughout the interwebs. David Nale, the property's owner, tells Haighteration that some neighbors have applied for a Planning Department Discretionary Review hearing to try to stop the project. That hearing will be at noon on July 21st, at City Hall Room 400. As the project's website puts it, 'the planning department is not supporting the project and says they "share the concerns of the DR requestor(s)".' So, if you feel strongly one way or the other, you might want to consider weighing in by (or on) July 21st.
