If the Lower Haight were suddenly overrun by zombies, would anybody notice?
Well, tonight we're gonna find out!
Local event/game production company The Go Game has chosen the Lower Haight as the location for tonight's Zombie Survival Game, described as an excuse for teams of five to six people "to run around the neighborhood, solve zombie-related challenges, dodge the undead, and scream 'braaaains.'" This is followed by drinking, judging, and prize-distributing. The competition also doubles as a disaster-preparedness refresher. Sure, zombie invasions aren't likely any time soon -- but earthquakes, outbreaks and the like? Not inconceivable. A little urban survival simulation once in a while can't be a bad thing. The cost to join the game is $20, with proceeds going to Project Night Night, an organization which supplies homeless children with items like blankets, books, and stuffed animals. So you're actually doing some good while dodging all those brain-eaters. That is, if you managed to get yourself a ticket. Unfortunately, with lots of press in the likes of 7x7 and SF Appeal this week, the Zombie Survival Game is currently sold out. But keep an eye out tonight, regardless. After all, if there are real zombies out there, wouldn't tonight be the perfect opportunity to strike?
