If you're wondering why the locals outnumber the tourists at Alamo Square today, wonder no longer. It's the 28th annual Alamo Square Flea Market!
Lining the park on Scott, Fulton, and Hayes Streets, vendors will be peddling antiques, handmade crafts, art, apparel, and lord knows what else. There'll also be kids activities, a pet adoption fair hosted by Rocket Dog Rescue, and for the first time ever, food trucks from Off the Grid. As the organizers put it, it's "a flea market meets neighborhood family fun meets a vintage dream." A vintage dream! The annual flea market also doubles as a fundraiser for the park. Proceeds from today's event will go toward tree maintenance and drinking fountain repairs. That's 9am to 3pm, just a wee bit to our north. You know where it is.
