So Labor Day is behind us, summer's over, it's back to work/school, and you've got that sinking, nothing-to-look-forward-to feeling. Right?
Let's fix that.
Next Wednesday, September 14, from 5-7pm, come on down to Mad Dog in the Fog for a good ol'-fashioned Haighteration Happy Hour. What better way to cap off your humpday than by meeting some neighbors and mingling with Haighteration writers (including yours truly!) over some free beer? Oh yes, we said free beer. Our friends over at Blockboard, a new hyperlocal mobile app, are generously taking this happy hour to the next level. Blockboard, like Haighteration, is all about the neighborhood. You can use it to catch up on local news, interact with neighbors, and report issues like graffiti and litter directly to the city. It's pretty slick, and definitely worth the free download. The folks at Blockboard want every iPhone-slinging Lower Haighter to try out their app. As such, when you come to the happy hour and show 'em the app installed on your phone, they'll happily pick up your beer tab. How about them apples? If you're thinking, "Hey, a happy hour sounds fun, but I don't have an iPhone and/or don't want no stinkin' apps," that's cool too. There'll still be drink specials galore, free snacks, and plenty of neighborly love for ya. We'll have more details in a few days. But for now, you can RSVP here: Lower Haight Neighborhood Happy Hour - Eventbrite Space will be limited, so register today to make sure you get in. Stay tuned for more info soon!
