Here's something fun and free happening just to our north today -- Sunday Streets: Western Addition Edition.
Billed as "San Francisco's official block party," Sunday Streets lands in a different neighborhood every month, shutting down streets to auto traffic and bringing out vendors, artists, and musicians along a defined route of 20 or so blocks. Today, Sunday Streets begins at Geary and Fillmore and heads south six blocks to Fulton, then heads west, skirting the northern edge of Alamo Square. It turns south again on Baker, then continues west on Grove to Central, ending at the Panhandle at Fell. This is all much easier to visualize via the event's handy map. During today's festivities, you'll find such features as a climbing wall, a mini-park with live jazz music, a square dance, bike rental and repair stations, several activities for kids, and something dubbed "Funky Town Roller Disco." There's also a new edition of The Neighborhood Game, whereby you can win fabulous prizes by exploring the neighborhood and completing tasks with your teammates. So, lots of fun options for ya. Sunday Streets goes down from 11am to 4pm, and the Neighborhood Game runs from 1pm to 3pm. Whatever you do, get out there and enjoy thisgreat temperate weather, huh?
