Need a last-minute item for your Halloween costume, or just a refresh for your wardrobe? Swing by the 400 block of Haight Street tomorrow, and check out the Fire Relief Sidewalk Sale.
From 11am to 3pm, the block will be lined with loads of donated clothes, accessories and household items for your perusal -- all at rock-bottom prices. Also, expect plenty of street food, including BBQ chicken from Wing Wings, smoked pulled pork sandwiches, and Navajo fry bread from Rocky's. We hear there might also be live music and a pumpkin truck, but those details aren't 100% finalized yet. Suffice it to say, it will be a fun scene. Proceeds from the event, which is being organized by the Lower Haight Merchants and Neighbors Association, will benefit the 30+ tenants displaced by last month's fire at 493 Haight Street. If you have items you'd like to contribute, bring them down tomorrow morning at 10am to Wing Wings (422 Haight). And if you can't make the event, but would still like to donate to the cause, you can do so at: https://www.wepay.com/donate/haightfire
