Today, the cast of the touring Broadway musical "HAIR" is taking a magical bus tour through San Francisco -- and they'll be passing through our neck of the woods in the next hour or so.
"HAIR" is currently in the middle of a month-long run at the Golden Gate Theatre. To promote the show, the cast boarded a bus this morning and set off from City Hall, making stops at landmarks like the Ferry Building and City Lights Bookstore. The final leg of their journey will be a ride from Market Street all the way down Haight, arriving at the corner of Haight and Ashbury at 11:30am. Along the way, they'll be "giving away tickets, merchandise and even hugs!" "HAIR", of course, is about Vietnam-era hippie counterculture, so Haight Ashbury is a natural final stopping point (though the musical itself is actually set in New York City). If today's bus tour inspires you to see the show, get moving: the final performance is scheduled for next Sunday, November 20th. And if you spot the cast rocking its way through the neighborhood, do let us know. Especially if there's nudity.
