If you like good coffee, fresh baked goods, and Divisadero, then you're probably going to get excited about this.
Tablehopper brings word that Jeremy Tooker, owner of Valencia Street's Four Barrel Coffee, is planning to open a cafe at 736 Divisadero, the former Emblem Market space. According to Tablehopper, the as-yet-unnamed cafe won't be another Four Barrel (and won't have its vibe), but will, importantly, serve its coffee. There will also be a bakery in the back, courtesy of Josey Baker (yes, his name is Baker and he's a baker!), and seating for about 50, both indoor and possibly outdoor. You may recall that 736 Divisadero, situated between Grove and Fulton, was originally slated to become the new Bi-Rite location, until owner Sam Mogannam ended up finding a second, larger space two blocks south. More recently, the storefront has been host to a community discussion board installed by the Wigg Party. Tablehopper says the target opening date for the new cafe is spring 2012. We'll keep an eye on it!
