Happy birthday to the Wigg Party, the fun-loving group of activists who have been making the Wiggle a better place for a full two years now.
Since forming in 2010, the group has given away produce at Hayes Valley Farm, created an Urban Eating League, hosted parties and talent shows, organized potlucks in the Panhandle, helped bring public art to Divis, and of course, worked to make The Wiggle a safer and more harmonious place for bikers, pedestrians, and motorists alike. To celebrate the milestone, they'll be throwing a Wigg Party Party tomorrow (Friday) night, from 8pm to 1am, at the Sunshine Castle, 1571 Fulton St. There'll be campfire hip-hop, live music by the duo Tits Bitchin', and some as-yet-unannounced activities and surprises. If you think community is important (and you must, otherwise why are you reading a neighborhood blog?), then join us in wishing the Wigg Partiers a happy 2nd. Here's to many more years of wig-wearing, community-building fun still to come.
