DogFest Returns to Duboce Park Saturday
For humans, there are the Art Walks, the Street Fairs, and the Bay to Breakerses. For dogs, there is DogFest. The 5th annual celebration of all things canine returns to Duboce Park this Saturday, and this year's edition promises to be as poochtastical as ever.

We're talking food, performances, games for kids, a raffle, a silent auction, and plenty of vendors peddling pet-related goods and services. There'll also be a dog show, with categories like "best costume" and "best trick," judged by a panel of San Francisco notables like writer Dave Eggers, Supervisors Wiener and Olague, and Chronicle columnist Leah Garchik. The show will be emceed by author Daniel Handler of Lemony Snicket fame. This all goes to benefit the McKinley Elementary School at 14th and Castro. So swing by Duboce Park on Saturday between 11am and 4pm, and have some four-legged fun for a good cause. Admission is free, and no dogs are required (though they are, of course, welcome).
